Services of Eleazer Trust School
Hope Foundation Academy
From the Principal’s desk:
The 7th June 2017
Hope Foundation academy was established in the year 2008, as a missionary project, in the memory of our beloved father (late) M Maisetbou, of Langmei village, Tamei sub division, Tamenglong district, Manipur. He was born on the 17th of July, 1938 and he met with a fatal road accident on the 20th of August 2004. His death was a great loss to his family and the community. He was a retired government teacher, an ex-village Authority Chairman and a church worker. He was a devoted social and religious person who worked with his heart and soul for the upliftment of his society. He was passionate for the healthy growth of the young generation and for the glory of God’s kingdom.
Hope Foundation Academy school is an English medium Institution with classes from KG 1 to Standard VII. The aim of the school is to impart quality education to orphans and poor, downtrodden children, who are lacking physically, mentally and spiritually. Endeavoring to promote all round growth for these children, the school has 10 teachers for the 100 students currently enrolled. Out of these, 25 students are either orphans or children of the poorest of the poor.
We are grateful to Eleazer Trust for their initiative and their big hearted gesture to take the 25 needy children under their tuition sponsorship scheme.
We thank you Eleazer Trust and we pray that God bless you in your noble work.
Kirjath Jearim Mission School
From the Principal’s desk:
The 6th June 2017
Kirjath Jearim is an important city of Israel and holds Biblical importance for the art of the Divine sacred Chest which remained there for many years. Prophet Samuel had started one of the earliest education institutions at Kirjath Jearim to mould the youth by imparting moral and spiritual teaching to them for the future prosperity of the nation.
Here, in Nagaland, Kirjath Jearim Mission School was established in the year 2008 with the motto, “Vincit Labor”, which translates to ‘labour overcomes’ and the emblem, “The rising sun encircled the cross”. Kirjath Jearim Mission School is a private institution sponsored by Liangmai Baptist Phumling (Church) and is administered and governed autonomously by the school managing board laissez-faire.
The aim of the school is to mould the pupils to be successful and responsible citizens in society. The managing board strives to build excellent all-rounders effective in all spheres of life. We hope that these children will be able to use their full mental capability, along with building a very good moral character and discipline. We teach them to be steadfast in their faith in the Almighty God.
In order to train these children, presently there are 11 teaching staff and 3 Non teaching staff (The Principal, Accountant and the Chowkidar). There are 7 members in the school Managing Board. The total strength of students is 178 from Nursery to Class VIII.
Amongst the students, we have many needy children: orphans, abandoned children, poorest of the poor and children from big families. These children are unable to pay the minimal school fee of Rs 300/- per month. This creates a big problem for us because then the teachers cannot be paid their salary. Neither do we have the heart to throw them out from school even though they do not pay the fees month after month.
With such a situation, we as a school were very happy when we heard of Eleazer’s work. The fact that they have taken 30 children under their wing is a true blessing for the child, the parent, the school and the society at large.
On behalf of the Eleazer children, the head of the institution along the school Managing Board express a deep gratitude to the Eleazer Trust for lifting up the needy in our society.
Mynri Umsning Upper Primary School
From the Headmistress’ Desk:
The 2nd June 2017
Every Morning, I travel at least one and a half hours by taxi and then another 45 minutes on foot to reach my school in Mynri Umsning. The reason I have to spend so much time commuting about 4-5 hours everyday is because apart from being the Headmistress in the village school, I also have to take care of my aged, bedridden mother and my old father. So, I have to be home every evening and leave early the next morning again.
During my walks to and from school till I get a cab, I meet small children aged as young as 3, walking to go to a nearby village/town to get a better school or rather, an English Medium school. These children walked in the rain, storm and sun. This hurt me to no end and it kept me thinking,
“Why can’t we have an English Medium school right in the village itself?” There is a Khasi medium lower primary government school where many of the parents are not interested in sending their children because they all want their children to be somebody.
The four teachers of the Upper Primary Section, where I am heading, got together and put our heads together and decided to start an English Medium School. There was no money for the salary. These four teachers and I sacrificed by sharing our salary with the two newly appointed teachers of the English Medium School. The Village Managing Committee gave their full support.
Hence, on the 27th of March 2013, with God’s blessings, we started the Mynri Umsning Upper Primary School- English Section. On the very first day, we had 27 enrolments. Now, four years down the line, we have 70 children from Classes Nursery to Class- IV. We have two teachers and we are hoping to hire a third teacher as well.
It gives me great joy to see the village children, speaking in English and not walking hours in the sun, rain and storm to attend an English medium school.
However, another hurdle is that many of the parents of our children in the village are so poor that they are not capable to even pay the minimal school fee of Rs 150/- per month. This brought great strain to even pay the minimal salary of the teachers. We have the orphans, and then the down-trodden who are just struggling to put food in the mouth. For them, education is the last thing on their mind.
With such a background, hearing about Eleazer Trust is sweet soothing music to the ears. We welcome Eleazer Trust and we, as the School, will try our very best to give the children a life, a future and hopefully a generation of educated youth. Thank you Eleazer Trust. May God richly bless your endeavor.
